Translation Workflow
AE Sheets provides multiple ways to translate your text, from AI automation to external spreadsheets.
AI Automation
AE Sheets can automatically translate your text using AI (Google Gemini or OpenAI). This feature requires you to provide your own API key in the AI Configuration settings — it is not available by default.
- Set up your API key in the AI Configuration panel and enable auto-translation.
- When creating a new version, check the "Auto Translate" option.
- The text fields for the new version will be populated with translations.
Exporting & Importing Translations
You can work on translations outside of After Effects using spreadsheets.
Using TSV Files
- Click the menu on the source composition header.
- Select Export to TSV.
- Open the file in Excel or Google Sheets, edit the translations, and save.
- Import the TSV file back into AE Sheets to update the values.
Copy/Paste Workflow
- Select the versions you want to copy.
- Copy them to your clipboard.
- Paste directly into a spreadsheet editor.
- After editing in the spreadsheet, copy the cells and click Paste in AE Sheets to update the values.
