Creating Versions

Once your layers are indexed, you can create different language versions.

Creating a New Version​

  1. Click "Create Version".
  2. Select a Preset (Language) from the dropdown (e.g., "Spanish", "German").
  3. This creates a new column in the Layers Panel for that language.

Version Settings​

Click on the composition name header for a specific version to access its settings:

  • Composition Name: Rename the resulting composition.
  • Only duplicate changing comps: If enabled, shared nested compositions that don't contain changing text will not be duplicated (keeping your project lighter).
  • Group in folder: Organize the created compositions into a specific project folder.
  • Find and Replace: Automatically find text (like en-GB) in comp names and expressions and replace it with the new language code (e.g., es-ES).

Batch Create​

To create multiple languages at once:

  1. Open the Create Version menu.
  2. Select Batch Create.
  3. Choose multiple languages from the list.
  4. (Optional) Enable auto-translation (requires an API key — see AI Configuration).
  5. AE Sheets will generate columns for all selected languages.
