Pinning Tool
The Pinning Tool allows you to parent layers to a specific edge or corner of a text layer. This is useful for graphical elements (like boxes, arrows, or icons) that need to move as the text grows or shrinks.
How to use
- Select the text layer you want to pin to.
- In the Rigging Panel, click the edge or corner where you want the pin (e.g., Top-Right).
- A new "Pin" shape layer will be created, attached to that point on the text layer.
- Parent your graphical element (e.g., an arrow) to this Pin layer.
- Now, when the text changes size, the arrow will move with it.
Pin Inherit Scale
Each pin layer includes a Pin Inherit Scale checkbox effect (visible in the Effects panel).
- Off (default): The pin layer keeps its own scale independently of the text layer.
- On: The pin's scale is driven by an expression that mirrors the scale of its target text layer. This is useful when the text layer itself scales and you want pinned elements to scale with it.
