General Configuration
The Settings Panel handles global configuration.
General Settings
-
Warn before creating all versions: Shows a confirmation dialog before batch-generating all compositions to prevent accidental long processing times.
-
Only include text layers in copy, paste and import/export actions: When enabled, comp-type rows are excluded from all copy, paste, and import/export operations - "Copy source layers with index", "Copy all versions", "Export .tsv", "Copy JSON", and the Paste button in the version table. See Copy & Paste for full details.
-
Line breaks in copied & exported text: Controls how a line break inside a text layer appears when you copy or export that text. Choose from:
- Replace with a space (default): each line break becomes a single space, so the text stays on one line and one row per layer.
- Keep as literal
\n: line breaks are written out as the characters\n. This keeps rows intact and round-trips cleanly when you re-import. - Keep as a real line break: the actual line break is preserved. Note that a real line break can split a single cell across multiple rows when pasted into a spreadsheet or re-imported, which is why Replace with a space is the default.
Duplication Settings
These settings control how AE Sheets handles text during the composition duplication process.
- Apply text settings to non-indexed layers: If enabled, font and text property changes (from the Preset) will be applied to all text layers in the composition, even if they aren't indexed in AE Sheets.
- Highlight bracketed words: If enabled, text wrapped in brackets (e.g.,
[highlight]) will be colored differently. - Highlight Color: Choose the color for the bracketed text highlighting.
