Data & Privacy

AE Sheets collects a small amount of anonymous usage and crash information to help us understand which tools people rely on and to catch bugs before they reach you. This page explains, plainly, what is and isn't collected.

What is collected

The information we collect is anonymous and cannot be traced back to you:

  • A random, anonymous install ID (a string of characters, not tied to your name, email, or account).
  • The AE Sheets version and your After Effects version.
  • Your operating system (for example, macOS or Windows).
  • Coarse license status (such as trial or paid), never your license key.
  • Which tools you use inside AE Sheets.
  • Crash reports when something goes wrong, so we can fix it.

What is never collected

Your work stays yours. AE Sheets never sends:

  • Your project content or compositions.
  • The text in your layers.
  • Your Find & Replace search or replacement values.
  • Your license key.

How it works

Reporting runs quietly in the background and never blocks or interrupts your work. If it can't reach our servers, it simply gives up silently, so it will never slow you down or show you an error.
